I think it's one of those shows that you really shouldn't take too seriously, even when they completely massacre a character or fuck with continuity because it's just so light hearted and cheerful that you'll pretty much forgive anything! .. that's how it is for me, at least. I think I'll add it to my list of things to watch once I finally get Netflix. I've been to lazy to sign up. That song definitely is catchy. Not a huge Beyonce fan, but their version isn't too bad.
