@Dayna: I keep forgetting what Google Wave actually is...or maybe I never knew! Anyway, everything seems to have a social aspect now, so I'm presuming it is!

@Alyssa: Haha, I was thinking about Tumblr's "like" system, but Twitter is the same thing, really. I've actually never used Twitter's system, though. In fact, I was oblivious to the whole feature until I just recently found that it existed!

I have accounts on LJ, Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook. My LJ is friends-locked and I use it to post more personal stuff than I post on my blog. My Tumblr is just for my own reference, to "collect" funny/interesting stuff I find around the 'net. And I use Facebook mainly to keep up with offline friends and family. I'm actually quite active on there. I update my status, post pictures, play with applications, all that jazz.

I completely agree with you about Facebook's "like" system. I wish it saved the posts you like, kind of like how Twitter saves the tweets you mark as favorites.

I'm only actively using Twitter, Facebook and flickr. Flickr is mostly just for sharing my photographs. The other 2 is for both offline and online friends. I don't really segregate between the 2.

Personally, I don't feel that Twitter is boring. I like how information is being shared across.

I've to say social media has become increasing important in most of our lives. Would the new google wave be considered as part of it as well?

My social media accounts are really for online friends with the exception of Facebook (online and offline), and to a lesser degree, my Tumblr which is more for myself to keep track of nice snippets I come across in my reading. Its not from an desire for privacy so much as my offline friends just don't seem to be into the whole thing -- or when they *do* get into it, it's at least 1-2 years after I've jumped onto the bandwagon (like with Facebook) and has since lost its charm for me.

And I totally agree with the username for last.fm! Woes.

But! I did recently get a Google Wave account. But I've yet to figure out what to do with it!
