Shrine

Eek, when I created this blog, I had the intention of blogging at least once weekly. I was successful up until I just realised it’s been eight days without a post. Haha, oh well.

As my previous post seemed to go down rather well, here’s another set of photos I took on the same day as the graffiti photos in the previous post. They are of the Shrine of Remembrance and surrounding areas.

Seeing photos of Melbourne makes me want to drag my friends down there for a roadtrip. It’s really just a change of scenery, and more reliable transport (!), but really, how does Melbourne compare to Sydney?

@Jen: I’m not so sure about the public transport reliability in Melbourne, to be honest, but Melbourne’s trains are definitely a lot cleaner than Sydney’s.

Melbourne and Sydney are much of a muchness, really. I hear a lot about Sydney having better beaches, but I’m not a very beach-y person myself. Also, Sydney has a nice harbour while Melbourne has a heavily-polluted river.

Melbourne is also apparently the arts/culture/food/shopping/sport capital, which I guess could be true at least for some of those, but I don’t experience much of it.

Melbourne has a lot of hidden laneways, especially in the CBD, with all sorts of secrets and eateries in them, which is potentially troublesome for tourists. I don’t believe this is as prominent in Sydney.

Anyway, I haven’t explored Sydney enough to be very informative, so I’ll be a typical Melburnian and say “Melbourne > Sydney”.
